Tatkal Flights recognises the importance of privacy of its users and the need to maintain the confidentiality of the information provided by them, as a responsible data controller and data processor. This Privacy Policy describes the practices we follow for handling and securing your Personal Information.

This Policy applies to any person ("User", "you", "your") who purchases, intends to purchase, or enquires about any product or service made available by Tatkal Flights through any of our customer interface channels — our website (tatkal.flights), mobile site, WhatsApp, call centre, and offline channels (collectively, "Sales Channels").

By using or accessing the Website or any other Sales Channel, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you disagree, please do not use our Website or other Sales Channels. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites linked from our Website; we encourage you to review their respective privacy statements.

1
Information We Collect & Legal Basis

We collect the following information so we can provide the services you choose, fulfil our legal obligations, and meet our obligations to third parties under the User Agreement.

1.1 Registration Information

When you sign up for an account, we collect your name, mobile number, and password. Your mobile number doubles as your WhatsApp number for booking confirmations and price-drop alerts. Email is optional at signup; you may add it later from your profile.

1.2 Booking Information

While making a booking, we collect passenger names (as on government ID), date of birth where required, contact email and phone, and payment details. Payment card information is processed and tokenised by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway (Razorpay) — Tatkal Flights does not store your full card number, CVV, or expiry on our servers.

1.3 Co-Traveller Information

If you book on behalf of others (family, colleagues, friends), we collect their name, age category, and any travel-document details the airline requires. By providing this information, you confirm that each co-traveller has agreed to have their information shared with us and the relevant service providers.

1.4 Identity & Travel Documents

For certain bookings (international flights, government-mandated KYC, contactless airport check-in, or where the airline or regulatory body requires it), you may be asked to provide your PAN, Aadhaar, passport, or other government-issued identification. Such information is used strictly for the specified purpose, and we will never share it without your prior consent unless required by law enforcement, a court order, or any legal process.

1.5 Activity & Browsing Information

We also collect transactional history, search history, click-through behaviour, and device/browser metadata — for example, the routes and dates you search, the flights you view, and the airline/fare combinations you select. This helps us improve the Website and personalise your experience.

1.6 Public-Domain & Third-Party Information

We may receive information about you that is available in the public domain or shared by third parties such as social-login providers, only to the extent your account settings permit (typically name, email, profile picture).

2
How We Use Your Personal Information
2.1 Bookings & Confirmations

We use your information to create and confirm reservations with airlines and other service providers, process payments, issue tickets and PNRs, and notify you of any subsequent updates, schedule changes, or cancellations through SMS, WhatsApp, email, or in-app notifications.

2.2 Customer Support

Your contact details allow our customer-service team to reach you about your bookings, respond to enquiries, and assist with refunds, cancellations, rescheduling, or other booking-related issues.

2.3 Authentication & Fraud Prevention

We use account-related information to authenticate sign-ins, validate phone numbers, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service. This includes verifying that the wallet balance you redeem belongs to your account and that the Razorpay payment matches the order you placed.

2.4 Surveys & Feedback

We may invite you to take part in surveys or feedback questionnaires. Participation is entirely optional. Survey responses are typically aggregated and anonymised to inform product and service improvements.

2.5 Marketing, Promotions & Loyalty

We may send you fare-sale notifications, special offers, price-drop alerts, and loyalty / reward updates on WhatsApp, SMS, or email — based on your search history and travel preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message or by writing to us (see Section 9). For wallet-based reward programs, your transaction history is used to credit cashback or referral rewards.

2.6 Service Improvement & Analytics

We analyse aggregated, anonymised data on traffic patterns, popular routes, conversion funnels, and feature adoption to improve search relevance, page-load performance, and the overall user experience.

3
How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your Personal Information on our servers for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. In some cases we retain information for longer periods where required by law, regulation, tax authorities, or accounting standards. When personal data is no longer required, it is either securely deleted or stored in a way that prevents further use by the business.

4
Cookies & Session Data
4.1 Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, deliver personalised offers, and measure the effectiveness of our pages. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can change your browser settings to refuse them — note that blocking cookies may disable some features on the Website. Third-party advertising or analytics providers may also place cookies; the data they collect is anonymised and used in aggregate to measure ad effectiveness.

4.2 Automatic Session Logging

Each time you access the Website your session metadata is logged — including IP address, approximate geographic location, browser, operating system, referrer URL, and the pages and durations of your activity. We use session data to diagnose performance issues, secure our systems, and improve site reliability. This data does not personally identify you on its own.

5
With Whom We Share Your Information
5.1 Service Providers (Airlines, GDS, Aggregators)

To fulfil your booking, we share necessary information — typically passenger names, contact details, and itinerary — with the airline and any GDS or fare-aggregator partners involved in issuing your ticket. By making a booking, you authorise us to share this information with such service providers. Once shared, those providers act as independent data controllers under their own privacy policies; we encourage you to review them where applicable.

5.2 Payment Processors

Payment information is shared with our payment gateway (Razorpay Software Private Limited) for transaction processing, fraud screening, and refund handling. Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant and operates under its own privacy policy.

5.3 Affiliate / Group Companies

We may share your information, under controlled and secure circumstances, with group entities or affiliates to deliver coordinated services, support, and communications across our family of brands. If Tatkal Flights is acquired, merged, or restructured, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of the transaction.

5.4 Business Partners & Vendors

We may share limited or anonymised information with vetted business partners (for example, co-branded card issuers, travel-insurance providers, or referral partners) so they can offer you complementary services. These partners are bound by confidentiality agreements and may use the information only to provide the agreed service.

5.5 Service Operations Vendors

We may engage third-party vendors for data hosting, server infrastructure, customer-support tooling, fraud detection, and analytics. These vendors process Personal Information only on our instructions and under written confidentiality / data-processing agreements.

Tatkal Flights does not sell or rent your individual personal information to third parties for their own marketing.

6
Disclosure of Information

In addition to the sharing scenarios above, we may disclose your Personal Information when:

  • required to do so by law, by a court order, or in response to a valid request from a law-enforcement, tax, or regulatory authority;
  • necessary for regulatory, internal compliance, or audit purposes;
  • required to secure our systems or investigate suspected fraud or abuse;
  • required to enforce or protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of our affiliates, employees, or other users.

In such cases, disclosure may take place without your prior knowledge.

7
User Generated Content

Tatkal Flights may invite you to post reviews, ratings, or feedback about your booking experience or about a specific airline / route. Participation is optional. Reviews and ratings you submit may be visible publicly or shared with our service providers, and may also appear on partner travel platforms. We may also engage third parties to collect feedback on our behalf via WhatsApp, SMS, or email — these are clearly identified as Tatkal Flights surveys.

8
How We Protect Your Personal Information

All payments and form submissions on the Website are transmitted over TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption, the industry-standard protocol that ensures your data is encrypted between your browser and our servers. We follow strict access controls, regular security reviews, and least-privilege server permissions to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction. Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — we therefore strongly recommend that you keep your account password confidential and notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access.

9
Opt-Out of Promotional Messages

We may occasionally send you fare alerts, promotional offers, price-drop notifications, or product updates via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. To stop receiving these, click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply STOP to a marketing WhatsApp / SMS, or write to us at care@tatkalflights.com. Transactional messages — booking confirmations, schedule changes, cancellations, refunds — are operationally necessary and cannot be opted out of while you have an active booking.

10
Withdrawal of Consent & Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the Personal Information we hold about you.
  • Correct or update your information directly from your profile, or by writing to us.
  • Delete your account and the associated data, subject to retention periods required by law (for example, completed bookings may need to be retained for tax and audit purposes).
  • Withdraw consent for any processing where consent was the legal basis. If you withdraw consent, our ability to deliver some services may be limited.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at care@tatkalflights.com with the registered mobile number / email of your account so we can verify and action the request promptly.

11
Children's Privacy & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to transact directly with Tatkal Flights and to consent to the processing of your Personal Information under this Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Travel for an infant or a child can be booked through an adult account-holder, where the adult is responsible for the booking and the information shared.

12
Third-Party Links

Our Website may contain links to airline websites, payment portals, social-media pages, or other third-party destinations. Tatkal Flights is not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites; we recommend you read their privacy policies before sharing any personal information with them.

13
Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business needs. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Where the changes are material we will notify you in advance via email, WhatsApp, or an in-app notice.
